John has been Chief Executive of Speedpak Group since 2003, leading the organisation’s development as an award-winning Work Integration Social Enterprise. Under his leadership, Speedpak has expanded its commercial operations and strengthened its social impact, providing high-quality training and work experience to people most distanced from the labour market.
John has over 25 years’ senior management experience across the business, education and social enterprise sectors, including earlier roles with Coca-Cola Bottlers Ireland, Tennent’s Ireland, and Northside Partnership. A recognised voice in the sector, he is a founding Director of Social Enterprise Republic of Ireland (SERI), serves on the Board of Social Finance Foundation, and contributed to the development of Ireland’s first National Policy on Social Enterprise, launched in Speedpak in 2019.
He is widely regarded as a thought leader in social enterprise, known for building partnerships across government, philanthropy, corporate and community sectors, and for championing innovation in employability and training models.
