At Speedpak we are committed to the highest standards of corporate governance, accountability and transparency.

Our Board of Directors meets regularly following an annual schedule set at the beginning of each year. The Board is supported by two active sub-committees who meet in advance of each Board meeting:

  • Finance, Audit, Risk & Remuneration Sub-Committee
  • Governance & Programmes Sub-Committee

Financial Oversight

Speedpak’s financial statements are independently audited annually and are prepared in accordance with accounting standards generally accepted in Ireland and with Irish Statute. Our Financial Statements are produced in accordance with the Charities SORP, a Statement of Recommended Practice that sets out how charities should prepare their annual accounts and report on their finances. The Company’s audited accounts are published on the Charities Regulatory Authority website here: https://www.charitiesregulator.ie/en/information-for-the-public
and can be accessed by putting the word ‘Speedpak’ in the search bar. Our auditors are KSi Faulkner Orr, 10 Mount Street Lower, Dublin, D02 HT71

In addition, our labour market and wage subsidy scheme programmes are independently audited by:

  • The Department of Employment & Social Protection
  • POBAL on behalf of the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht.

Compliance & Best Practice

We are fully committed to the Charities Governance Code. This sets the minimum standards required to effectively manage and control operations in a company with charitable status.

As outlined by the Charities Regulator, Good Governance involves putting in place systems and processes to ensure that our company achieves its charitable objectives with integrity and is managed in an effective, efficient accountable and transparent way.  To ensure this we have:

  • Completed our Governance Code Handbook in line with the 6 Principles of Good Practise
  • Maintained a Charities Governance Code Compliance Record
  • Commissioned an independent review of our documentation to review and ensure we meet compliance

We regularly monitor and review our policies and procedures to ensure we meet the highest standards of good governance. This commitment reflects our responsibility to all our stakeholders and reinforces the trust placed in us by our investors, partners and our community.
