A fund of €800,000 for the provision of training and mentoring for social enterprises throughout Ireland has been announced by Minister Michael Ring T.D., Minister for Rural & Community Affairs.

The funding, being supplied through the Dormant Accounts Fund, will support policy commitments made in the National Social Enterprise Policy for Ireland which the Minister launched in July 2019.

Minister Ring expects “up to 300 social service projects to benefit from the funds over the next 12 months. Funding is aimed at improving social organisations in areas such as business planning, mentoring, leadership, governance, financial planning and digital innovation.”

Expressions of interest for the delivery of training and mentoring to social enterprises are being invited from organisations who have a proven track record in providing such supports to social enterprises.
