We were delighted to host Minister Michael Ring T.D. at Speedpak on Tuesday 12th September where he announced the development of a National Policy on Social Enterprise.
This is a major initiative to support and develop the sector and involved the establishment of a steering group comprising experienced social enterprise practitioners and representatives of a variety of government departments.
The event was followed by a tour of the Speedpak Contract Packing and Shamrock Rosettes facilities and by a meeting of the new Steering Group. The meeting was attended by representatives from Minister Ring’s Department of Rural and Community Development, as well as from the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform, the Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection and the Department of Business Enterprise and Protection.
