Speedpak Group wins Social Innovation Fund Ireland, Education Fund Award
Speedpak Group secured social investment from Social Innovation Fund Ireland (SIFI)’s Education Fund (with match grant funding from The Ireland Funds) for its Enhanced Skills Training Model at a special event held in Dublin’s Smock Alley Theatre on Tuesday 24th October.
Building on this model, the Company will collaborate with the State, Education and Industry partners in developing a National Traineeship in manufacturing and logistics. It will be designed to improve access to people who are long term unemployed living on Dublin’s Northside and will provide specialist support to enable people participate, succeed on the traineeship and secure employment in the sector. This combination of industry-specific work, training and career guidance skills will be transformative.
In presenting the awards the Minister for Education and Skills, Richard Bruton TD highlighted the benefits of cross-sector cooperation stating that “…the Education Fund is a celebration of the power of collaboration between the private and public sectors and it’s great to see SIFI showing the potential of both to work in partnership together to deliver real results”.
