An Alternative Career Opportunity on Your Doorstep
This Traineeship in Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Customer Service Logistics is a full-time, no-charge-to-you, nationally-accredited work and learning programme that is delivered over 30 weeks.
Run by Coláiste Dhúlaigh College of Further Education in association with Speedpak Group and local industry partners, the training is delivered at Speedpak premises in Clonshaugh Business & Technology Park. Industry work placements are provided in a variety of locations, mostly in the Dublin 17 area.
WHO CAN ATTEND?
The Traineeship is open to everyone regardless of whether you are receiving a social welfare payment or not. There is no charge to participants for attending.
SKILLS SHORTAGE – YOUR ADVANTAGE
The Traineeship has been designed with input from our industry partners to equip participants with the skills and work experience that they require. They are locally-based manufacturers, distributors, retailers and logistics companies who are regularly recruiting.
These are growing sectors that are currently seeking people with skills in warehousing, manufacturing operations, logistics, IT, stock control, distribution and people who have a strong understanding of customer service. Applicants for roles requiring these skills will have a distinct jobs market advantage on successful completion of the Traineeship.
LEARNING CONTENT
Following training you will achieve qualification/certification/licence in:
- Health and Safety at Work
- Occupational First Aid
- Manual Handling
- Forklift Operation
- IT Skills, Databases and Stock Control Systems
- Warehousing
- Lean Manufacturing
- Production Processes
- Functional Maths
- Customer Service
In addition to:
- WORK EXPERIENCE IN INDUSTRY
- One to One Coaching/Mentoring
WORK EXPERIENCE
Trainees will work as part of a team in a busy commercial warehouse and manufacturing plant to gain work experience and relevant on-the-job training in industry-standard operational and production procedures.
Trainees will also spend 12 weeks on work placement, over two periods with at least one of our local industry partners. This is an exciting and valuable opportunity to learn, put your training into practice …and to impress!
PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT
We are very proud of our successes over the years in supporting our many programme participants in transitioning to new jobs.
Through coaching and one-to-one mentoring we support participants in identifying, defining and pursuing the career path that best suits them. This includes help with developing confidence, self-esteem, communications skills, team working skills and organisational skills. We also help participants choose a work placement host and to apply for a new job, apprenticeship or further education.
