At Speedpak Group we have used business to deliver social impact for over 30 years.
As a Work Integration Social Enterprise (WISE), we exist to improve the employability and employment prospects of people furthest from the labour market living on Dublin’s Northside. Our model is built around our trainees journey from being long term unemployed to securing a job in the open the labour market and the greater resilience, financial independence and choice that brings.
Our model effectively addresses long-term unemployment by combining real work experience with industry-led training and supports in a commercial setting.
Trading
Our businesses, Speedpak Contract Services & E-fulfilment and Shamrock Rosettes, are labour intensive and process driven, making them ideal for providing structured, hands-on training and sustainable employment experience.
Training
From day one, trainees are given real work experience, gaining skills and confidence in a supportive, production environment. We offer accredited QQI and industry-led training alongside bespoke non accredited skills training including literacy and numeracy. We engage the services of both private sector and community training partners to deliver on site in our Learning Centre.
Transforming
We provide career planning, coaching and job-seeking skills to change mindsets, build confidence and motivation to progress. Working closely with local industry to understand their talent needs, we then align our training programmes accordingly to create a pipeline of skilled candidates.
Our social impact is solving the problem of long term unemployment in communities that experience higher social and economic challenges.
While the private sector provides supported employment placements they are often limited in duration and ad hoc. While the State provides a variety of grant training supports they are not enough on their own to address and support the complex needs of those who are long term unemployed and furthest from the labour market.
Using our Consumer Journey Framework we map the stages from unemployment to financial independence to tailor our supports to the needs, motivations, and challenges of people furthest from the labour market.
Our integrated model enables us to harness and maximise resources through our industry, state, community and philanthropic partnerships to increase employment outcomes for those most distant from the workforce.
